Gray Maynard (11-4-1 MMA, 9-4-1 UFC) has two knockouts and nine decisions victories, he has been knocked out three times. He made his UFC debut way back in 2007 with a no contest fight against Robert Emerson. He won his next eight fights with wins over Dennis Siver, Frankie Edgar, Jim Miller, Roger Huerta, Nate Diaz and Kenny Florian. He fought to a draw against Frankie Edgar at UFC 125 – Resolution on Jan / 01 / 2011. They had their rematch, but lost via KO at UFC 136 – Edgar vs. Maynard 3 on Oct / 08 / 2011. He beat Clay Guida via split decision at UFC on FX 4 – Maynard vs. Guida on Jun / 22 / 2012. However, he lost his last two fights, he lost to T.J. Grant via TKO at UFC 160 – Velasquez vs. Bigfoot 2 on May / 25 / 2013 and then Nate Diaz via TKO at UFC – The Ultimate Fighter 18 Finale on Nov / 30 / 2013.

Ross Pearson (16-6 MMA, UFC 8-4) Has five knockouts, five submissions and five decision victories, while he has two knockouts, two submissions and two decision losses in his MMA career. Prior to joining the UFC, he was on a one fight winning streak. He went through the Ultimate Fighter and on The Ultimate Fighter 9 Finale in June / 20 / 2009, he beat Andre Winner via unanimous decision. In his last six fights, he is 3-2-1. He beat Junior Assuncao via unanimous decision at UFC 141 – Lesnar vs. Overeem on Dec / 30 / 2011, but lost to Cub Swanson via knockout at UFC on FX 4 – Maynard vs. Guida on Jun / 22 / 2012. He then went on a two fight winning streak, he beat George Sotiropoulos via knockout at UFC on FX 6 – Sotiropoulos vs. Pearson on Dec / 15 / 2012 and then Ryan Couture via knockout at UFC on Fuel TV 9 – Mousasi vs. Latifi on Apr / 06 / 2013. Pearson next fight ended in a NO contest due a knee to head on a grounded fighter against Melvin Guillard at UFC Fight Night – Machida vs. Munoz on Oct / 26 / 2013. Pearson is coming off a very controversial loss to Diego Sanchez at UFC Fight Night 42.

Round 1: Gray with two back to back left hooks. Pearson lands a right hook. In and out, both fighters looking for range. Gray shoots in on a double, he puts Pearson on the fence to apply more pressure. Pearson get’s back to his feet and we are striking. Pearson with a right hook, Gray with a left/right combo and then a takedown. Gray in top position, but Pearson scrambles to his feet. They trade in the pocket, and we are going to the second round.

Round 2: Both guys leaning in and out, almost colliding heads is the story of this fight up until this point. Gray shoots in, Pearson giving his takedown defense a work out in this one.  Gray clinches while Pearson is on the fence. They trade and slide out of the clinch. Pearson with a big right hand and that stuns Gray. Pearson swarms and finishes Gray Maynard with swarming right hands!
