Nick Diaz will be fighting Anderson Silva in January of 2015, but have made it clear that he does not enjoy fighting. After a brief retirement stint, Diaz is back to fight once again. UFC President Dana White gave his thoughts on Diaz's comments and his fight with Silva:
"He's Nick Diaz. There's a lot of things Nick says that make him Nick. It is what it is. I believe that he doesn't enjoy fighting. When you hear him talk about what he does and why he does it – everything that guys says is the reason he is who is who is. The way he fights, his demeanor, all make him Nick Diaz. A lot of people don't like going to work, but you've got to do what you've got to do. He might not enjoy it, but that's what he does and that's how makes a living. Not everyone is going to love what they do."
Prior to making his UFC debut, Nick Diaz had a ten fight winning streak and made his UFC debut against BJ Penn which he beat Unanimous Decision. He lost to Carlos Condit via Unanimous Decision and then against GSP for the belt in March of 2013 via Unanimous Decision. He retired after the fight for whatever reason. Diaz has stated that he is interested in coming back for one more fight.
"I'm pretty pumped for that fight. Anderson, I can't wait until he comes back. He's one of my favorite fighters. And you know Nick Diaz. He's exciting and that's the fight Nick wanted, that's the fight the fans wanted to see, so we did it."
UFC 181 goes down January 31st from Las Vegas, Nevada. This fight will be the main event.
